Abstract

The Internet of Things refers to ubiquitous sensing and actuation environment, where devices are connected to a distributed backend infrastructure. Nowadays, the maturity of IOT applications, networking technologies and manufacturers of “Things” have caused an explosion in the number of connected devices. There are many reports which calculate that the number of connected things will reach more than 50 billion in the near future. Many research is been carried out to provide and smoothen interoperability among heterogeneous Internet of Things platforms. So it is necessary to know the ontologies in IOT. In this paper we present an overview of existing IOT-related semantic approaches. Keywords: Ontology, Semantic Sensor Network Ontology (SSN)
