The Keval’s Method – Determination of Absolute Configuration Using Calculations
Abstract
“The Keval’s Method” is developed for the determination of absolute configuration of a chiral carbon in a Fisher Projection and Wedge-Dash Projection just by simple calculations. This method is easily applicable over both Fisher as well as Wedge-Dash Projection. Various methods for determining absolute configuration have been developed and published till now, some of them used fingers and hands and other used exchanging elements.
“Keval’s Method” is the first method in which a chiral carbon is taken to be an origin and the branches to axes, also it is purely calculation based method where absolute configuration is found based on the nature of calculated answer without using fingers and hands and also without exchanging elements.
